She later was a secretary at Hobbs High School and a medical secretary for Dr. Don M. Lowery. When her husband went into real estate, she became secretary/bookkeeper there as well.
Upon retirement, the couple traveled extensively and enjoyed RVing with friends. They visited Europe, Canada , Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, the Caribbean, the British Isles and all fifty states until ill health curtailed their travels.
She loved piecing quilts, water coloring and wrote and published 18 mystery romance novels.
