Adan G. Gomez, 64 was greeted with loving arms by his heavenly family on Wednesday, November 29, he died at Veterans Hospital in Amarillo, Texas.
Adan was born in Raymondville, Texas and moved to Hobbs, NM with his family as a young man, he went to school in Hobbs later getting an Associate’s Degree. Adan was honorably discharged from the US Army and lived in Chicago, IL until a few years ago when he return to Hobbs, NM. Adan was an accomplished and very talented musician. He played with top recording band Latin Breed and as a vocalist and lead bass player for Banda Macho from Odessa, Texas. He opened for many top Latin music groups in the Chicago area. Most recently he played with Seminole Country a local group. He worked as a long haul truck driver coast to coast.
Adan is survived by his mother, Dora Salazar and stepfather Tom, his daughter Cassandra Mitchell Stewart (Cody) from Bartlesville, OK; his four grandchildren Olivia Stewart, Cody Stewart, Britton Potter and Bristan Stewart of Bartlesville, OK; three brothers, Amado Garcia (Diana) from Hobbs , Guy Eagleberger (Kathy) from Waco, TX and Mark Salazar from Hobbs, his uncles Walt Garcia (Esperanza) from Hobbs, Leopoldo Garcia from Corpus Christi, TX, his Aunt Paula (Hilario) Pena from Hobbs and many nieces, nephews and cousins who loved and adored him very much.
Adan had a warm personality with a contagious smile and laugh that drew people to him, he loved his family dearly especially his mother Dora who was his strength. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. Rest in peace Adan until we see each other again.
