Funeral services for Myrtice Aline Fowler of Hobbs, New Mexico, will be 2 p.m. Monday, January 12, 2009, at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home with Pastor Jotty Kinney officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation is 1-5 p.m. Sunday, January 11, 2009, at Chapel of Hope.
Mrs. Fowler, 86, died January 8, 2009, in Hobbs. She was born July 14, 1922, in Hamburg, Mississippi. She married Everett Fowler on September 25, 1941, in Natchez, Mississippi.
She moved to Hobbs in the early 1960s and loved to garden, can her fruits and cook large meals for her family. Her grandchildren enjoyed coming in the summer to spend time with her. She also loved to golf. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include her husband, Everett Fowler Sr. of Hobbs, New Mexico; two sons, Everett Fowler Jr. of San Angelo, Texas, and Joe Fowler of Sun City, Texas; a daughter, Carolyn Woolsey of Hobbs, New Mexico; a sister, Voncile Whitehead of Roxie, Mississippi; three grandsons, James and Nathan Fowler and Ryan Woolsey; five granddaughters, Robin and Cindy Fowler, Christy Correa, Amanda Galyean and Elizabeth Piniero; and eight great-grandchildren.
