Jonathon Paul Thornton was born on June 6th 1982. He worked a variety of jobs that demonstrated his intellectual drive to constantly learn and grow. Jonathon began work through a temp agency at the age of 16 and excelled as a Lab Tech for Halliburton. He was also a volunteer Firefighter for Monument for many years. At the age of 17 Jonathon made sure his dad stayed safe on the highway by doing mechanic work on his 18 wheeler. With freelance and self-taught tech skill, Jonathon worked on computers, designed a data base for Warrior and worked for DCP. Jonathon could work on cars, build a house or help dress his daughter’s dolls and each task was completed with kindness, precision and integrity.

Jonathon loved to cook and decorate cakes for family and friends. He has been an integral part of Snochinno’s with expansion plans, menu design and menu item recipes that he proudly served to his dedicated customers.

Jonathon married Shuree Hill on April 13, 2010. His defining moment was the birth of his daughter, Kaileigh Renae Thornton, his pride and joy. The love of fatherhood shone through his eyes and would melt your heart.

Jonathon was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jimmy Griffin, and grandparents, Olen and Elizabeth Thornton, as well as numerous cousins, aunts and uncles. He is survived by his wife, Shuree, daughter, Kaileigh, parents, Paul and Sheila Thornton, two brothers, Wayne Thornton, Michael Thornton and Kerri Thornton.

Jonathon is loved and cherished by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. May he boldly go where no one has gone before.

I was shocked to hear of Jonathon's passing, I use to work with him while at Warrior, he would report indirectly to me. A very intelligent young man, While visiting the lab in NM I mentioned to him that I was interested in making a database for the lab but currently I did not have time as I was working on other projects that had higher priorities. He asked if he could get involved, at the time he had limited programming knowledge but took it upon himself to learn and work with me and he created an incredible product. I was very impressed by his intellect. This is really sad news, he will be missed :(

I sure hope that you know how much you will be missed by so many. I was reading through some of our messages and came across this one you sent me it said “ Stop mé riamh grámhara duit! “ along with a google translater because you knew I would have no idea what it said .. imagine my surprise when I saw the translation. Just so you know I never stopped either. I expect you to be waiting for me in heaven so we can finally do that meeting. Love you GR.

I am so saddened and sorry for your loss! Jonathan was such a bright, creative young man. I will always treasure his elaborate paper and crayon figures he’d make at his desk! This was as he quickly aced his daily work and read many grades above level. Prayers and warm thoughts to all!
