Sherman Denton Holder 87, was called to service in Heaven on Saturday, November 3, 2018 from Hobbs, NM.

Sherman was born on December 1, 1930 in Young County, TX. He was the youngest of 12 siblings born to the parents William Lee and Martha Bell Holder. On September 4, 1948 in Wichita Falls, TX, Sherman married his lifelong love, Ruby Winzella Holder. As a loving couple they blessed this world with 2 amazing children; Sherman Denton Holder, Jr. and Sheran DeNeen Harris. Denton blessed Sherman and Winzella with 2 grandkids; Susan and Allison and 2 great-grandkids; Austin and Colby. While DeNeen blessed them with 3 grandkids; Jason, Kevin and Angela and 5 great-grandkids; Tyler, Kelbi, Zolee, Jaxon and Kolton and 1 brother; Jack Holder of Jacksboro, TX.

As a Christian man who spent many years dedicating his life to the Lord, Sherman was a jack-of-all trades who could figure out how to do anything if given a minute. While growing up in New Mexico and Texas, Sherman spent a majority of his younger years in the oilfield industry as well as the public-school system. He spent some years dabbling in bee keeping and construction industries as well. However; it was his extraordinary wood-working skills with wood crafts that probably made the biggest mark on his family, friends, and strangers alike. Sherman Denton Holder was a good man that made a positive impression on most people he came across with his intelligence and ability to constantly tell a joke to make you laugh. He will be missed by many.
