Eddy Lee Craig of Hobbs, 84, peacefully entered the gates of heaven on January 22, 2019. Eddy was born in Tatum, New Mexico to Wilmer and Doris Craig.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Laura Nan Craig. He is survived by his sister, Faye Wagoner, and his three children: Sharon Sheram and husband, Douglas Sheram, Sharla Craig-Conway and husband, Gregory Conway, and Royce Craig and wife, Kathy Craig. Eddy’s grandchildren are Tara Mospan, Lauren Sheram, Chad Black, Katy Snowden, Trent Craig, Maggie Craig, and J.T. Craig. He has five great-grandchildren.

Eddy was the owner of Craig Electric for 55 years and continued to operate his business until his death. He thoroughly enjoyed his many relationships formed through his church, his business, the “good old boys club,” and his coffee shop buddies.

Our family wishes to thank Kinder Hospice, with particular thanks extended to the nurses who rendered such support and care in Eddy's final days.

My family and I have been blessed with Eddies friendship through church. He and my son were able to bond over gun talk, vacations and talks of the longhorns on the Hobbs highway. Our pew will feel lonely and our hearts will always remember such a kind and generous man.
Our prayers are with the Craig family and with Mrs. Patsy. Thank you so much Eddie for your kindness.

It was very sad to hear of Mr. Craig's passing. I work with his true love, Patsy, and watched her dedicate time, effort, and pure love into her caregiving for him. He must have been very special to have Patsy's love. She is a wonderful person who appears quite lost and bereft at this time. Our sincere condolences to her and to Mr. Craig's family.... May they help and support one another through this difficult time..!

We have known Eddie for many years through our Church where he was very faithful and active, much of the time behind the scenes, and supporting the Childrens Home in Portales, NM. For the past several years, Rocky saw Eddie several mornings a week at the donut shop where the group of seven or eight men swapped stories and picking at each other. The guys will definitely miss Eddie. Our deepest sympathy and prayers go out to the family and friends in your grief . God be with you and comfort you.

Eddy always cared about developing individuals and helping them to achieve new talents and capabilities! I had the privilege to work for Eddy in high school and Junior College. The experience and knowledge I learned from Eddy has been invaluable to me throughout life, both personally and professionally. Eddy, thank-you from my heart for making such positive impact on my life.

Royce, Sharla and Shannon you are in our payers and know that your Dad and Mom are happy in heaven together.

I meet Eddy when I was 10 and he and Nan moved in next door to us. They were the nicest and happies couple I knew and I know Eddy is now happy that he is now with the love of his life, Nan. God bless the family and loved ones.
