Steven Ray Barringer went to meet his Lord and Savior Thursday, January 24, 2019 at the age of 67. He came into this world on December 20, 1951 in Elgin, Illinois. Steve was well known in his community and loved by many. His life revolved around his family as well as sharing the love for Jesus Christ with others. Whether it was fishing with his son and son-in-law, riding roller coasters with his daughters, or taking his 4 grandsons for movie night, he was always there for his family. He was the perfect husband for 43 years to his wonderful wife Marta Barringer, even keeping Friday’s open for date night. He will be a very missed man not only by his family, but this community. He was preceded in death by his father and mother; Val and Sinia Barringer, and younger sister; Barbara Barringer. He is survived by his wife; Marta Barringer, son; Daniel Barringer, daughter; Melody Barringer, daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and Justin Davis, 4 grandsons; Gavin Barringer, Atlea Barringer, Cutter Davis, Ty Davis, older brother; Dan Barringer and sister-in-law Jan Barringer.
I remember Steve working with the youth group in Las Cruces when I was a teenager, some of the best times were had when Steve was there, many prayers for Marta and the rest of the family.

Dear Marta and family,
My deepest condolences for the loss of the most kind individual I have ever known and such a wonderful person. Steve and I would routinely discuss and critique movies he and Marta watched. It was so much fun as we would discuss the good and bad of each movie. Steve’s smile would radiate across any room, or any group of people he was with. He was a true angel and I know he is looking down on us and saying we will meet again soon and have those same discussions we previously had.

Thoughts and prayer from my family to yours. Steve was without a doubt the nicest man I've ever met. I met Steve many years ago when I played little league, later we played softball together at Vista Pointe and a few years after that we worked together at the URENCO facility. I enjoyed visiting with Steve everyday because he always had a positive attitude and his faith in the Lord was always on display.
