Ada Sharp

Funeral services for Ada L. Sharp of Hobbs, New Mexico, will be 11 a.m. Friday, August 29, 2008, at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home with Pastor Lavoid Ford officishy;ating. Burial will follow at Prairie Haven Cemetery.

Visitation is 8 a.m.- 7 p.m.Thursday, with the family in attendance from 5 a.m.- 7 p.m. at Chapel of Hope.

Chapel of Hope Funeral Home is in charge of arrangeshy;ments.

Mrs. Sharp, 93, died August 25, 2008, at Good Samaritan Village. She was born July 19, 1915, in McKinney, Texas. She married Charlie Shashy;rp in 1933, in Sherman, Texas. He died in 1963.

She married Frank Nelshy;son in 1989. He died in 1997.

Ada retired from Safeway grocery store after 27 years of service. She moved to Hobbs, New Mexico, in 1950. Ada worked as a Pink Lady at Lea County Hospital in 1968. She enjoyed fishing.

She was a member of Temple Baptist Church.

Survivors include a grandshy;son, Gregory Sharp of Charlottesville, Virginia; two granddaughters, Tracie Reed of Roanoke, Virginia, and Collette Long of Charlottesville, Virginia; three great-grandchildren; a nephew, Wendell Cathey and wife Maggie of Portales, New Mexico. Maggie was the caregiver for Ada for the past nine years; and numerous nieces, nephews and family members.

In addition to her husbands, Ada was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Mark Sharp, five brothers and four sisters.
