Obituary

Addie Bee (Peepsie) Patterson was born on May 22, 1935, to Minne Lee and Frank Elmore Patterson in Lamesa, TX. She passed away on June 24, 2026, in Hobbs, NM.

She is a child of God and a follower of Christ. Her love of the Lord led her to spend many hours studying God’s word in preparation for teaching Sunday School. She also shared her talent by playing the piano and serving in children’s ministry.

Peepsie and John were married on October 7, 1953, after knowing each other for only six months. Together, they worked to build a good life for themselves. She worked as a bookkeeper for an attorney as well as a clerk for Vandiver’s Hardware. In 1973, she and John opened a craft store, Peepsie’s Paint Pantry, which they operated for over 30 years where her creative and artistic talents were used. She enjoyed oil painting and tole painting as well as sewing, crochet, and other needlecrafts. Many hours were spent working on jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, or coloring.

Peepsie is survived by her husband of over 72 years, John; her daughters, Nancy Boerio and husband, Brad, of Hobbs; Susan Thompson and husband Mike of Rose Hill, Kansas; three grandchildren, Brandon Boerio and wife Tristan of Clovis, NM, Hillary Boerio and husband Steven Lopez of Austin, TX, and Jordan Boerio and wife Amy of Bartlesville, OK; and three great-grandsons, Grayson, Easton, and William. She is also survived by one sister, Dorothy Stewart of Hobbs, and a special niece, Doris Lanpher of Lubbock, TX, as well as a nephew and several nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Nathan (Bud) Patterson, and Fred Patterson; three sisters, Opal Gordon, Sue Holley, and Frankie Applin; and one great-granddaughter, Beckett Hope Boerio.

Our family wants to express our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the Bee Hive staff for their loving care of her for the past months, especially Crystal, Barbara, and Starla. We also appreciate the care provided by Amber and the other caregivers from Enhabit Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Beckett Hope Foundation, PO Box 3051, Bartlesville, OK 74006.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of Hope. Visitation will be at 9am on Wednesday, July 1, at Chapel of Hope, with the service following at 10:00am. Interment will follow at Prairie Haven Cemetery.
