Allen Schroeder

January 31, 1941 — July 26, 2018

Allan Schroeder, 77, was born January 31, 1941 in Bird Island, MN. He died peacefully on July 26, 2018 at Hobbs Health Care Nursing Home.

He had many health problems, the main one being, Type 1 Diabetes for fifty-two years.

Allan met and married Pat in Minnesota fifty-five years ago and together they raised three sons; David Schroeder (Jeanne) Schroeder, of Hobbs, Scott Schroeder of Renville, MN, and Randy Schroeder (Lilly Acosta) of Hobbs.

Allan is survived by his wife Pat, of Hobbs, his sons, and seven grandchildren; Heather Milton, Plains, TX, Josh Schroeder of Hobbs, Ryan Schroeder of Portales, NM, Jennifer Schroeder of Hobbs, Eric Schroeder of Clayton, NM, Dillon Wollin of Springfield, MN, Cody Schroeder of Redwood Falls, MN and one great-granddaughter; Kylee Milton of Plains, TX, two sisters; Darlene Pearl of Modesto, CA and Ardy Steinhaus (Larry) of Lake Crystal, MN, numerous nieces and nephews, and many good friends.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents, and two sisters; Carol Jean and Beverly Koerner.

Thirty-five years ago, Allan and Pat transferred to Hobbs with the Good Samaritan Society, (both) working at the nursing home here in Hobbs for several years. Allan's hobby was collecting old miniature cars. He also, loved the Denver Broncos football team and watching their games and watching Nascar racing. The Lord and his family were very important to him. He served as a lector and commentator at St. Helena Catholic Church for several years. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
