Alta Mahan

Alta ‘Corrine’ Mahan, was born on February 18, 1937 in Jesse, Oklahoma, the youngest of 3 girls to Francis and Ruby Garrett.  She gained her angel wings at the age of 85 on October 30, 2022, at her home in Lubbock, Texas surrounded by family.

She and her husband attended Cross Plains Church of Christ in Lubbock, Texas where they attended faithfully.  They were both Sojourners traveling and assisting with projects for children’s homes until health issues prevented them from continuing.

Spending time with her children and grandchildren was her ultimate joy.

Alta is survived by her sister Nettie Jean Weaver (Sam), sons Terry Walker, Stan Walker (Mary Ann), Keith Mahan (Linda) and Jason Chenault (Laurie) grandson/son/caregiver, daughters Tracie Strahan, Lisa Hunter (Robert) and Lori Clack (Larry), numerous nieces and nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Alta was preceded in death by grandson Jason Cody Walker, husband Bobby Carol Mahan, sister Luella Mae Holcomb and parents Lee and Ruby Henderson.

In lieu of flowers a donation to the Alzheimer’s foundation would be greatly appreciated.
