Alton "Craig" Ply, 64, of Hobbs, New Mexico passed away on Monday, March 18, 2024 following a car crash. Craig was born in Hobbs, New Mexico on July 1, 1959, but grew up in Denver City, Texas. Craig was a Hot Oiler and worked in the oilfield for more than 46 years. He happily semi-retired and worked for McBride Supplies It All. Craig played sports and enjoyed water and snow skiing when he was young. His hobbies were riding ATV's, RVing, and camping in the mountains. He was his daughter's soccer coach and his sons' hunting buddy. Craig was a life-long, devout Dallas Cowboys Fan. Craig loved spending time with his family and really loved being a GrandDad.
Craig is survived by his wife of 36 years, Sheila, four children, Ryan Ply and his wife Tami, Kyle Ply and his fiancée Kerri Light, Chad and his wife Katey Ply, Katilyn and her husband Jacob Norris, and his brother, Kenny Ply. Craig was blessed with five grandsons, Braylon Ply, Brody Ply, Jacob Norris, Jr., Jayden Norris and Jaxton Norris.
Craig was preceded in death by his father, Edward Alton Ply and his mother, Willa Dean Ply.
