Anthony Crochet

September 26, 1957 — August 5, 2021

Hobbs

Anthony Crochet Jr. (Tony) passed away in the early morning of August 5th, 2021 at home. He left behind a family who loved him dearly and enjoyed every minute of their time with him. Those family members include his parents Anthony Sr. and Mona Crochet of Louisiana; his sister Tammy Jim of Mississippi; his brother Kim Crochet of Louisiana; his wife Judie Crochet of Hobbs, New Mexico; his mother-in-law Ima Jean Driver of Hobbs, New Mexico; his two sons Ricky Ford and his wife Rebecca Ford of Hobbs, New Mexico; and Ethan Crochet of Louisiana; his daughter Krystle Roberts and her husband Joseph Roberts of Hobbs, New Mexico; and his rambunctious and endearing grand babies Dallas Ford, Lyric Ford, Zeke Ford, and Payton Roberts, whom knew him as Pawpaw and always found love, solace, and comfort in his arms. Tony also had many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles, as well as an extended work-family whom he enjoyed a lot of time with. He was preceded in death by his sister Donna Crochet-Lofaso of Alabama, and his brother Sidney Crochet of Louisiana.

Tony had more friends in this life than all of his family's hands could count and he loved them as if they were born into the same tree. He loved working on his motorcycles and taking rides out into the middle of nowhere, also called his "Wind Therapy." In his spare time if he wasn't cuddled up on the couch and enjoying cartoons with the grand babies in the early morning hours, he was in the driveway tweaking bits and pieces of his bikes - a lot of times with parts he'd purchased without the knowledge of and under Judie's radar - all to make sure it was running just the way he wanted it to.

Tony loved the Lord and was very strong in his Christian beliefs. He was also a very patriotic man, loving anything drenched in the red, white, and blue color scheme. His love knew no bounds when it came to friends and family, and often times he would talk very fondly of his memories with all of them. Tony loved life and he loved his family, but nothing quite pulled on his heart the way his grand babies did. Being able to witness how gentle and loving he was with them will be some of our favorite memories of him, in addition to his laugh, his goofy jokes, and his ability to light up any event he was a part of.

It is with the deepest of prayers that we ask you to keep your memories of him alive and speak of him often, as it only helps to ensure his legacy of being the most genuine, humble, and caring human being that has ever walked the earth, is never forgotten.
