Anthony Maldonado

Anthony Leno Maldonado was born August 3, 1972, in Hobbs, NM to Leroy Acosta and Irma Maldonado. He passed away January 29,2024, in Lubbock, Texas at the age of 51 years.

Anthony was a Hobbs High School Graduate from Class of 1991. He was the Street Superintendent for the City of Hobbs for 26 years. He retired March 2023.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 30 years, Lorraine Maldonado, his children Lou Maldonado and Mystica Maldonado (Craig), fur-baby Rollee and his two pride and joy grandchildren, Amaryhee and Edmar Maldonado and his three granddogs. He is also survived by four brothers and two sisters, and a host of other family members to include aunts, uncles and numerous cousins.

Anthony was preceded in death by his mother Irma Maldonado, maternal grandmother Maria Gonzales and maternal Grandfather Jose Maldonado. He was also preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Gloria and Antonio Acosta.

Anthony was a dedicated family man, always putting the needs of his loved ones above his own. He was a highly devoted sports fan of the New York Yankees, New York Giants, and the New York Knicks. He loved his grandchildren wholeheartedly, and his grandchildren absolutely adored him.
