Avis Hobbs

Avis Ione Dickman Hobbs, MaMa, passed away July 27, 2022, at the age of 88.  She was born in Enid, OK to Henry and Marjorie Dickman.  She grew up riding horses, playing sports and caring for many of the family animals.  She met the love of her life and future husband at Oklahoma A&M (now Oklahoma State University).  She and her husband and children moved to Eunice in 1957 where she became an avid Eunice Cardinal sports fan.  She was an active member of Eunice First United Methodist Church and lovingly devoted herself to many committees and activities of the church including singing in the choir and teaching vacation bible school.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister Twyla Dickman Tefft.

Avis is survived by her beloved husband one month short of their 70th anniversary, Charles (Bud) Hobbs; brother Ted Dickman and wife Nelda of Pampa, TX; daughter, Debbie Erdwurm and her husband Pat of Midland, TX; son, Ricky Hobbs and his wife Kim of Covington, LA; son, Randy Hobbs and his wife Karen of Hobbs, NM; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will be receiving guests in the Fellowship Hall of the church following the service.
