Bertha Padilla

June 5, 1950 — December 28, 2021

Hobbs

On December 28, 2021, Bertha Alicia Padilla entered heaven’s gates as her loving husband of over 49 years, Ray, held her hand at her bedside. She was born in Magistral De Oro, Durango, Mexico on June 5, 1950.

A living example of faith and love to everyone she encountered, Bertha loved her family and Jesus with all of her heart. Always having a part in the ministry of God, she taught Sunday school, helped the elderly, and participated in benevolent activities. She was always ready to give counsel, encouragement, and emotional support.  Always a servant following in the example of Jesus, she was an example to us all. She co-founded the local bi-lingual Christian radio station KROZ with her husband in 2005. Most importantly, she was a prayer warrior, ready at any moment to move mountains or shake the earth for the Kingdom of Heaven.

She is survived by her husband Ray Padilla, son Noel Padilla (Carol), grandson Josh of Bryan, TX; son Joel Padilla (Veronica), grandkids Isabella, Gabriel, and Viviana of Georgetown, TX; daughter Lisa Padilla, grandkids Veronica, Neira and Elgin Jr. of Denver City, TX; sister Hortencia Mendez (Alejandro) of Juarez, Mexico; brother Rudy Mendez (Carolina) of Roswell, NM; and numerous nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her brothers Locadio Mendez, Antonio Mendez, Salvador Mendez, Francisco Mendez and sisters Maria Mendez, Socorro Mendez and Paula Gomez.

She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
