Betty Sorrell

A memorial service for Betty Sorrell of Hobbs, New Mexico, will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 6, 2008, at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home with Pastor Brad Reimers officiating. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.

Mrs. Sorrell, 76, died August 4, 2008, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, Texas. She was born March 5, 1932, in Odom, Texas. She married B.W. Sorrell on March 5, 1950, in San Antonio, Texas.

Betty enjoyed hand quilting and embroidery. Every year since 1991, the Grandmothers' Club of Eunice has asked her to hand-quilt a quilt that is raffled off for charity. Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmothshy;er.

She was a Baptist.

Survivors include her husband, B.W Sorrell of Hobbs, New Mexico,; her daughter, Pati Minnick and husband Larry of Hobbs, New Mexico,; a sister, Leona Scott and husband Jessie of New Boston, Texas; her grandchildren, Barry Wright and wife Norma of Odessa, Texas, and Dedra Martin of Hobbs and her great-grandchildren, Justin, Cameron and Madison, all of Hobbs.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Pearl Conway; and a daughter, Waydean Sorrell.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the charity of one's choice.
