Hobbs

Bill Brasher, long-time resident of Hobbs, New Mexico passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 10, 2022, in Seminole, Texas.

Bill was born August 14, 1933, in Taylor, Texas to Reverend J.R. and Amal Brasher.  He was raised in Oklahoma, graduating in Checotah in 1952.  After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country with honor.  Upon his return from service, he married Patsy “Pat” Hughes in Roswell, New Mexico in 1957.  Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Hobbs.  Two daughters were born to their union.

Bill was the General Manager of the Western Auto Stores for over 30 years.  He later worked for Acid Engineering in Denver City, Texas.  He saw the company through many buy outs and name changes, finally retiring with B.J. Services in 1998.

Bill loved life, sports, pool and playing dominoes with friends.  Bill had a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and because of that, we will all see him again.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Pat, his parents, along with sisters, Mildred, Dorothy, and Betty Jo and one brother, James.   He is survived by two daughters, Charlotte Carter and husband Tommy of Hobbs, New Mexico and Sheila Houk and husband Alan of Waxahachie, Texas.  Bill had four grandchildren, Jasen, Justin, Tara and Kaime, five great-grandchildren, and one sister, Patsy George of Albuquerque, New Mexico, along with many loving nieces and nephews.

Bill requested that a private interment of he and his wife’s remains be placed at Prairie Haven Columbarium in Hobbs, New Mexico.

Bill had a tender place in his heart for the charitable placement of Gideon bibles.  He would be honored if you would carry on by placing a donation in his memory at: sendtheword.org
