Brenda Turner

Brenda Turner, 71, passed away peacefully with numerous family members by her side in Lubbock TX, May 2, 2023.

Brenda was born September 9, 1951 to John Edwards and May Ethel Woods. After graduating high school Brenda remained in Hobbs and began a family.

She married James Turner on February 11, 1998 but they spent more than 37 years together. Previous to her marriage to James she had two children Christy Garcia and Melody Salazar. During her marriage to James they had two children together Jeremy Turner and Tiffany Turner.

Brenda was a stay at home wife and mother and always kept her house tidy. Stayed on top of daily chores and loved to cook for her family. Brenda loved to stay up late and watch lifetime, true crime, and talk on the phone. Brenda has a beautiful smile, compassionate heart, an awesome friend, and had the most generous spirit. She loved staying in contact with her friends and family. She learned to play games on her tablet and worked crossword puzzles.

Brenda is survived by her husband James Turner, children, Christy Garcia and son-in- law Johnny Garcia of Lubbock TX, Melody Salazar and son-in-law Fernando Salazar of Hobbs NM, and Tiffany Turner of Midland TX, two sisters, Barbara Cox and Jo Latimer, along with 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents John Edward and May Ethel Woods, son Jeremy Turner, grandson Johnny Ray Garcia, brothers Donnie Woods and Gary Woods, and sister Jeannie Gibson.

We all count our lives blessed to have known and loved Brenda Turner.
