Carl Epperson passed away at the age of 61 on January 22nd, 2026. He was born on October 8th, 1964, to George Thomas Epperson and Jo Ann Epperson (nee Hirt) in Hobbs, NM, where he lived his entire life.
Carl was a dedicated professional in every sense of the word to one company, Blaine Industrial Supply, where he worked for 43 years. He was proud of his work, treated his employees like family, and always put his customers first. He embodied the very foundation that Blaine was built on and would want to thank Elmer and Quetha Ford for loving him the way they did.
Everyone who knew Carl loved Carl. He never met a stranger and would go out of his way to help anyone in need, especially those he loved. He cared deeply about the people in his life. Carl was known for being kind-hearted, honest, loyal, dependable, hardworking, and funny.
He had a love for collecting things, such as baseball caps, mini-NFL helmets, Hard Rock Café t-shirts, and his favorite, a large music collection which ranged from records and A-tracks to cassettes and CDs. ZZ-Top and Conway Twitty were two of his favorites to listen to. He also loved to play softball and had a competitive spirit. Carl had two children, Linzy and Cody, both of whom he was extremely proud. If you were ever around him for more than 5 minutes, you probably knew how much he loved them.
Carl is preceded in death by his father, George Epperson; his paternal grandparents Tom and Lula Epperson; his maternal grandparents Ed and Irene Hirt; and other extended family members. He is survived by his mother, Jo Ann Epperson; his children, Cody (Taylor) Epperson and Linzy (Chris) O’Connell; his grandson Braxton Epperson; his two brothers, Tom (Mercy) Epperson and Wayne Epperson; his cousin who was more like a sister to him, Nancy (Bud) Barnwell; and many beloved extended family members and friends.
Pallbearers for the service will be Tom Epperson (brother), Wayne Epperson (brother), Kendall Bickley, Scott Bateman, Mark Bateman, and Mike Sims.
Honorary Pallbearers are Cody Epperson (son), Braxton Epperson (grandson), Chris O'Connell (son-in-law), and Rolf Menge.
