Charlene was born in San Antonio on July 5, 1942. One day from being a firecracker to Francis Teague and Charles Stimson. She has two loving sisters and one onery brother in Pam, Joyce, and Rusty. My aunts have lost their husbands in recent years Billy Ray and Glenn. My how they loved those men and we did as a family.

In her early years, her father worked in the oil field and moved around wherever the work took him. One of moves took them to South America. They lived in an oil camp of foreign workers. One story she always loved to tell is about having a pet monkey that got jealous of a pet dog and would carry the puppies up into a tree and drop them. Charlene had to come home from school early to get the monkey down. All of their travels ended with her in Andrews, TX. It was there that she met the man she would marry and spend the next 63 years with.

On December 22, 1962, Charlene and Bill married in Andrews, TX where they both graduated High School surrounded by family The Harrisons and Teagues were a large family so about everyone participated. The 4 Teagues and 6 Harrisons became a family. They had their Honeymoon in Vegas. Two young folks with a dream. Soon there after, they moved to Denver City, TX and had a daughter Michele in Oct 1963. Michele passed in 2022. They lived in Denver City where Bill worked at Piggly Wiggly and was transferred which led them to Roswell. It was in Roswell; they had a son Michael in 1967. Bill and Charlene moved around SE New Mexico and SW Texas. In 1975, Berry was born in Carlsbad. After stretches in Roswell, Carlsbad, Artesia, Hobbs, and Snyder, TX, they ended in Hobbs around 1983.

Charlene worked at Penny’s in the shoe department and as the visual manager for 28 years. She remained in contact with many of the “members” long after leaving and having monthly luncheons long after retirement. Those ladies and Mr. Adams are the pallbearers.

Mom, Charlene, had many loves in her life. Bill Harrison, she loved him, her kids, grandkids, great grandkids, painting, crafts, arts, and those dang Texas Rangers.

Charlene was very good painter and the majority of paintings and decorations around their house were painted by her or made by her and her hands are everywhere. She loved her family and it can be seen in every inch of the house. She built the cabinets and had her own workspace on the back patio. One of the things she loved doing was going with Michele to take art lessons and painting classes. She loves sunflowers and painted them on the back fence. The front of the house is decorated with various types of flowers and all very colorful as was she. There’s a large pecan tree in the front yard and Charlene would spend hours shelling them by hand to make sure she got halves. During the holidays she was always making candy that would end up being delivered to friends and family.

She loved her Cowboys and loved those, Rangers. But more than that she loved watching her grandkids and kids play. The latest being Kolton and all of his baseball, football, and basketball wearing the appropriate jersey for each. Kota with his games. Ethan earlier. My mom was the constant presence at every game that Michele, Berry, and I had. Sitting out in the wind, cold and watching us all play, she and dad were there. Ask about the Rangers and she could tell you who was good or bad and needed to go. She said she didn’t pay attention, but she did.

Charlene did love the outdoors. The family spent many vacations traveling to Santa Clara to camp and fish. She would sit for hours watching a bobber for a catch. Cooking outside on a picnic table. With the large group we had to play some baseball, and she was always right there.

Charlene was a very active member of Taylor Memorial Baptist. You know my mom and she was short; someone built a stool for her in bible study for her feet not to dangle. She loved going to the sermons though some went long. The living Christmas Tree. She has a deep belief in God and now with my sister and others we have lost.

She is survived by her loving Husband Bill Harrison. Two children Michael Harrison from Hobbs, NM and Berry Harrison Spouse Katie from Hobbs, NM along with her grandkids of Kolton, Dakota, Ethan and Owen Callaway with spouse Felicia and great grandbaby Amara, Michele passed in 2022 and was married to Feliz Valdez from Hobbs, NM. Her grandkids are Dianne Giles and spouse Dusty from Northern NM. Her Grandkids are Connor Andrae in USAF in Albuquerque and Jerzey Andrae from Abilene, TX. Josh Lacey and spouse Stacey from Juneau AK and grandkids Aiden and Abby. Jacob Bleu from Houston Tx and great grandson Colin. Brothers and sister Pam Browning from Snyder, TX, Joyce Smith from Dallas, TX and Rusty Teague from Boyd, TX. Those in-laws, Preston Harrison and spouse Bonnie from Arkansas, Harold Harrison from Whiteface, TX, Ray Harrison, and Spouse Dean from Baton Rouge, LA.
