Clifton Alfred Clary

July 13, 1955 - June 16, 2025

It is with great sadness that the family of Clifton Alfred Clary announces his passing, after a long battle with heart disease. Clifton Alfred Clary, 69, went to be with his Heavenly Father early the morning of June 16, 2025, at Covenant Hospital in Lubbock, Texas.

Clifton was born in Hobbs, New Mexico to Cecil and Tessie (Lucy) Clary on July 13, 1955. He was raised in Hobbs, where he graduated from Hobbs High School in 1974. Clifton spent most of his adult life as a truck driver for W. M. (Billy) Walker, later operating his own heavy equipment transport escort business, until his health prevented him from traveling. He spent his spare time working with wood, making dollhouses for his nieces and repairing antique wagons and clocks.

Clifton is preceded in death by his father, Cecil Clary, his mother, Tessie Duke, his brother Bobby Dale Clary and step-brother Bobby Ray Duke.

Clifton is survived by his sister, Diann (Charlie) Brown, brothers, Billy, David and Lonnie (Melanie) Duke, nieces, Brenda Davis and Amanda Snowden and nephew Dylan Clary.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Clifton's name to the charity of your choice. The family would also like to extend their gratitude to Harold and Ida Brown and Mary Thomas for being such dear friends and assisting Clifton during his illness.
