Coreen Gayle Mitchell, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Hobbs, NM on Sunday April 2, 2023. She was the second born to Clinton and Ida (Vollmer) Fettig. Coreen was born on November 16, 1955, in Dickinson, ND. She was raised and educated in the Killdeer area where she graduated from Killdeer High School.
Coreen worked for Walgreens in Hobbs for 13 years until her retirement. Prior to Walgreens, Coreen was the owner and operator of Tans R US in Hobbs where she had the opportunity to touch many in the community.
Coreen was a foster parent for several years where she was able to assist youth in the area. She enjoyed spending time with family and traveling. She will be remembered for her caring and positive attitude and her willingness to always help a friend or family member.
She is survived by her son, Lucas (Maggie) Heiser of Loma, CO; her mother, Ida Fettig, Ada MN.; her brother, Clint (Karen) Fettig, Manderson, WY; her sisters, Deanna Fettig, Ada, MN and Lola (Kent) Hind, Lubbock, TX; her grandchildren, Tyler and Luke Heiser, both of Hobbs, NM; Bevan Clausen of Loma, CO; Aurianna Heiser of Loma, CO; her nieces, Dusdee, Kaycee, Kaylee, Jessica, and Hayden; nephews Destry and John.
For the past 18 years, Coreen has been with her companion and love of her life, Johnny Davis.
She was preceded in death by her father, Clinton, and brother Noel.
Memorial contributions can be made to “Sheri’s House of Hope” in Hobbs.
