Curtis DeWhitt Boozer, 77, of Eunice, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2026, in Lubbock, Texas, surrounded by the family he loved so dearly.
A proud graduate of Eunice High School, Class of 1967, Curtis was a lifelong pillar of the Eunice community. In his younger years, he was a standout athlete who loved playing baseball for the Eunice Cardinals. He took immense pride in his time on the diamond, where he helped lead his team to three State Championships-a testament to his competitive spirit and dedication that stayed with him throughout his life.
Curtis was a man of service and dedication. He honorably served his country in the National Guard, a commitment that reflected his deep sense of duty. Following his service, he found his true calling in the oilfields of New Mexico. He didn't just work there; he truly loved it. He respected the value of a hard day's work, the weight of a handshake, and the camaraderie of a crew. To Curtis, the oilfield wasn't just a career-it was a way of life that required a certain kind of toughness and integrity, qualities he possessed in abundance.
At his core, Curtis was a simple man who wasn't much for dressing up or putting on airs. He was most at home in his Dallas Cowboys shirts or NASCAR gear. He was an avid fan of "America's Team" and followed the legacy of Dale Earnhardt with great passion.
While he was "oilfield tough" on the outside, his heart belongs entirely to his family. He married the love of his life, Jennette, on May 11, 1984, and together they shared 41 beautiful years. They raised four daughters: Mikea, Mindy, Misty, and Manda. As a father and "Papa," he was a constant, guiding presence-a teacher of life's practical lessons and a man who took immense pride in the large, vibrant family he built. Passing away with his loved ones by his side was a fitting tribute to a man who lived a life of deep devotion to his people.
Curtis is survived by his beloved wife, Jennette; his brother, William "Bill" Boozer and wife Judy; his daughters and their husbands: Mikea and Steve Almager, Mindy McCasland and Shane Overton, Misty and Phillip Jenkins, Manda McCasland and Eric Pender; brother-in-law Andy Landes, brother-in-law Joe Landes and wife Judy; sister-in-law Jamie Wilson and husband Jimmy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He leaves behind a lasting legacy through his twelve grandchildren: Taylor, Tyler, Kyzer, Kynzi, Kanyn, Kennede, Mason, Bryce, Kezia, Dominique, Delaney, and Michael; and his nine great-grandchildren: Raeli, Tyler II, Naleigh, Nash, Aspyn, Asher, Jace, Iyla, and Braylen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Dena Boozer; his sister, Andrea Hines; and his niece, Lori.
