David Womble

David Burl Womble passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Lea Regional Medical Center in Hobbs, NM. Dave was born on August 23, 1923 at home in Peoria, KS.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Vernie and Ruth Womble, his wife of 60 years; Virginia, his daughter; Sue, brother; Milo, and three sisters; Vada, Nadine, and Alma.

Surviving him are his wife; Linda, children; Wade Osborne, Gina Osborne, Jason Parrott and wife Mandy, grandchildren; Lane, Landon, Allison and Levi, his dog; Dallas, niece; Linda Dietrick and husband Larry.

Dave worked for many years in the oilfields. In 1974 he became the owner of Reliable Security in Hobbs.

Dave never met a stranger. He loved to talk to everyone. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and always had a story to tell about his great adventures.

Dave enjoyed anything western, especially his favorite shows Gunsmoke and Wells Fargo. All the shows he watched and the books he read had to have cowboys, horses, wild gunfights and the pretty girl being rescued by the cowboy hero.
