Dorothy G. Kimery, age 88, of Lubbock, TX passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2019.
Dorothy was born on September 10, 1930 in Ardmore, OK to Tommie and Gladys Mapp.
Dorothy went to school in Monument where she was state champion in tennis several years. Dorothy worked alongside her husband, James at the NM Dept. of VFW in Albuquerque, NM and retired with that office.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Kimery, her parents and three siblings.
She is survived by her two sons; Gerald Simpson, wife Juanda and Keith Simpson, wife Cherry'e, all of Hobbs. She is also survived by her seven brothers and sisters; Kathleen Phillips of Van Alstyne, TX, Joyce Bullock and her husband Bill Bullock of Denver City, TX, Kenneth Mapp and wife Janice of Hobbs, Glenda Godwin of Iowa Park, Peggy Chanley and husband Earl of Seminole, TX, Doyle Mapp of Hobbs and Deborah Harris of Hobbs. She is also survived by five grandsons; Jason Simpson, wife Amber, of Denver City, TX, Kenneth Simpson, wife Courtney, of Odessa, TX, Ben Simpson, wife Laurie of San Antonio, TX, Corey Simpson of Hobbs, NM, Gage Simpson, Krystal, of Hobbs and one granddaughter; Lori Simpson, Damien, of San Angelo, TX, and six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, especially her special niece Kelly Roberts.
