Doyle Wesley Rahe, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great‑grandfather, went peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior on May 20, 2026, in Hobbs, NM, at the age of 88. Born on December 10, 1937, in Crescent, OK, to Clifford and Naomi “June” Rahe, Doyle lived a life defined by steadfast faith, humble service, and deep devotion to his family and community.
He was preceded in death by his cherished wife of 67 years, Wilma Jean Rahe; his parents, Clifford and June Rahe; his brother, Dr. Gary Rahe; daughter‑in‑law, Rosa Linda Rahe; and granddaughter, Sylvanna Barraza.
Doyle is survived by his three children: Karen Padilla (Chris), Steven Rahe (Angie), and Mike Rahe (Olga); eight grandchildren; and twelve great‑grandchildren, all of whom he loved to spoil and delight with his patriotism, stories, and treasured collection of tractors, planes, tanks, cars, and trucks.
A devoted man of faith, Doyle was a longtime member of First Christian Church in Hobbs, where he served faithfully for many years. His quiet strength, steady presence, and deep commitment to his church family were hallmarks of his character. He also offered dedicated support to Guadalupe Christian Church Camp, giving generously of his time and talents.
Doyle graduated from the Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology in Diesel Mechanics in 1958. In 1963, he moved his family from Oklahoma to Hobbs, NM, where he, Wilma, and brother‑in‑law Paul Oltmanns founded Hobbs Diesel, Inc. Under their leadership, the company became a respected heavy‑duty repair and parts facility, thriving for more than 35 years. Doyle also served his community through organizations including AMBUCS and The Gideons International.
He will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his strong faith, and his generous heart. Doyle touched countless lives and leaves behind a legacy of devotion, integrity, and cherished memories.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Durrill H. Rahe American Legion Post 200, P.O. Box 772, Crescent, OK 73028, or to Mandy’s Farm (mandysfarm.org), supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in living, learning, and working in the community.
