Leon Moore was born March 3, 1936 to Foy and Clara Moore in Runnels County, Texas. His last trumpet sounded and his chariot came to take him home to His Father in heaven Saturday, April 19, 2025. He was 89 years old. Leon lived a full, rich life making lasting impressions on so many lives wherever he went. He volunteered for the draft and served 2 years in the U.S. Army. Then he married the love of his life, Yvonne. He took great care of her especially the last years of her life. They had a beautiful family. Leon was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, friend, and became a devoted follower of Jesus Christ later in his life. He most especially loved to share the teachings of the Apostle Paul with everyone. Leon was welder by trade. He enjoyed sharing his experiences. He retired from Shell Pipeline where he got to travel doing welding inspection on many jobs including offshore. He loved his family near and far, friends - he loved people. He loved his McDonald's buddies and the years with his buddies at Casey's. Leon loved the fresh air and his walks outside. He was a member of Jefferson Street Church of Christ. He is survived by his five children, daughters: Patti and Chris Bates of Walters, OK; Kelly and Doug Avants of Lampasas, TX; Kim and Joe Don Latimer of Hobbs, NM; Pam Lytle of Columbia, MO; son: Brian and Pamela Herald of Spring Branch, TX; 16 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren. Daddy, you inspired us all how to love and live life. We will miss you but just as you always told us, "It is not goodbye but see you later!" A special thank you to all the staff of Bee Hive2, Enhabit Hospice especially Chaplain Dennis Durfee, Mark Bowman of Hobbs VFW, Pastor LaVoid Ford, Temple Baptist Church and Dr. Lenard Wagner. In lieu of flowers make a donation to the Alzheimer Association in honor of Yvonne Moore.
