Genoveva Cervantes

Genoveva Cervantes, passed away peacefully at home at the age of 89 with her family at her side in Hobbs NM.

Born in Pima AZ, on April 4, 1931. She lived in Hobbs NM with her husband Augustin Cervantes (deceased).

She was wonderfully devoted to her 9 sons and daughters. Our mother was busy, raising her children and led by example. There was never a job too large or too small that she would not tackle. She was a strong, determined and fiercely independent woman. Fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and many good friends. We will miss her every day.

She will be forever remembered for her beautiful smile, gentle eyes, caring heart, loving embrace, and unconditional love.  Although our hearts are heavy, we will celebrate her life and find comfort that she is in heaven watching over us.

She was preceded in death by her husband Agustin Cervantes of 54 years, her two sons Lorenzo Cervantes and Jesus Manuel Cervantes, her daughter Guadalupe Cervantes, and her granddaughter Christine Aguilar.

Surviving her are two sons; Ubaldo Cervantes and wife Carmen of Childress TX,  and Jose Luis Cervantes of El Paso TX, four daughters Maria J Sanchez and husband Luis, Maria S. Barrera,  Ana M Holguin, and Leticia Carrasco all of Hobbs NM.

She was a loving grandmother to 29 grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren.

Todo Bienvenidos para visitar y rosario will be Wednesday, Aug. 5th, 2020 between 2 pm and 4 pm at Chapel of Hope, 3321 N. Dal Paso St. Hobbs NM.
