Hobbs

George Edward “Puddin” Parchman passed away April 29,2020.  He was born on December 6, 1934 in Somerset, TX to George and Evelyn Parchman.

George was a devoted husband to Dorothy for 64 years.  He was a wonderful, loving, providing dad to four children: Glenda Bunch (Gorman) of Whitesboro, TX, Pam White (Lonnie) of Magnolia, Arkansas, Sid Parchman (Kerri) of Canyon, TX and Leslie Pfalzgraf (Tim) of Hobbs, NM, his sister, Billie Curtis of Ozark, AL.   He was a loving Pa-Paw to 10 grandchildren and 10 ¼ great-grandchildren, and an “Uncle George” to many nieces and nephews, and a friend to numerous people.

George worked in the oilfield for many years, employed by Lane Wells, Dresser Atlas, retiring with I & W Transport in 2013.

He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, spending time with his grandchildren and competing in Chili Cookoffs.

In Georges younger years he enjoyed playing church league softball and got great joy in teaching Sunday School and working in the bus ministry at Temple Baptist Church.

George was preceded in death by his parents, George and Evelyn Parchman; sister, Ella Mae Gebert and grandson Cameron Bunch.

The family would like to thank Beehive Memory Care and Star Hospice of Hobbs for loving and caring for George through the difficult times.

George was a devout man of God.  As the scripture says in II Timothy 4:7: “George fought a good fight, he finished the course, he kept the faith; therefore, there is laid up for him a crown of righteousness.”
