Helen Shepherd

Funeral services for Helen M. Shepherd will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at Chapel of Hope officiated by Minister Clay Martin. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 15 from 10 a.m. 6 p.m. and Wednesday 8 a.m. until service time at Chapel of Hope. Helen died January 11, 2013, at Good Samaritan in Lovington. She was born September 13, 1923, in Atlanta, TX, to Thomas and Lydia Johnson.

Helen was an active member of Jefferson St. Church of Christ. She enjoyed the card ministry, sending cards to family and friends of the church family. Helen loved her dog, Honey Boy.

Surviving Helen is her son, Gary G. Shepherd, and wife Ida Lee, of Laughlin, NV two daughters, Rebekah Sue Cantu and Mary Lou Ellison both of CA nine grandchildren, Theresa Shepherd of Hobbs and Vicky, Christina, Laurie, Amber, Austin, Dwayne, Ashley and Aric and several greatgrandchildren.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Garmon G. Shepherd who died in 1995, daughter, Peggy Ann Banes and daughterinlaw, Nicky Shepherd.
