Janice was married to Hermon Warford, known by most people as Buddy. She and Buddy moved to Hobbs in 1974.
They were faithful members of Taylor Memorial Baptist Church for many years where they both would often play piano for church and sing in the choir. For many years Janice taught piano and voice at the New Mexico Junior College in Hobbs. She really knew how to pull the best out of people, and many of her students won national awards for their performances. She once gave voice lessons to Steve Pearce to help him in his run for the U.S. House of Representatives.
Janice also led the Jubilee Choir for 25 years. Jubilee was an interdenominational Senior Adult choir that traveled around the United States, and even sang for Dr. James Dobson at the Focus on the Family campus once. Many churches and communities were blessed by her gift of love.
Buddy died in 2008, but Janice continued to lead the Jubilee Choir for many more years She was well known for her great sense of humor, her kindness to everyone she met, and her love of family and friends.
Janice is survived by children Melody, Lyric and Craig, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
