Jenny Armendarez was born on September 13, 1958, in Carlsbad, NM to Nestor and Maria Armendarez. She was 63 years old when she passed away. Jenny was very spiritual in her faith. She was simple, but yet elegant and intelligent in her own way.
She graduated from Eunice High School in 1977. After she graduated from Eunice High School, she received an associate degree at NMJC. Jenny was a lady of many talents, and a nanny to many children. She was an administrator of St. Helena Parish office for 12 Years. Through her time there she worked with so many wonderful Priest and administrators, including Father Joseph Pacquing who was so thoughtful and caring throughout her illness. He always had kind words to lift her spirits.
Before working at St. Helena Parish, she worked at La Tienda, 1st United Methodist Church, and Bo-Kay Flowers. She fought cancer for 9 years until her passing on December 2, 2021. She is survived by her stepmother Ana Armendarez, Her Brothers Armando Armendarez (Yennet), Carlos Armendarez (Ginger), Joel Armendarez (Vikki), and her sisters Gloria Armendarez, Teresa Gonzales, Annette Molsbee (Andrew), and Nora Armendarez (JR Moreno). Her Godchildren Katyanna Serna, and Carmelo Rene Armendarez. Along with numerous nieces, and nephews. Her closest friend and sister from another mother was Lorina Anaya, and her caring friends were Ann Baeza, Nellie Villalobos, Isreal Martinez, Don and Beth Hammer, Deacon Paul Campos, his wife Patricia Campos, and members of the St. Helena Parishioner’s. The list is endless.
Jenny always had a sense of humor, and always had a comeback line to say without even having to think. Her favorite past time was to have a manni and petty and her favorite color to use was any shade of pink. Every now and then she would have a cocktail or two. Which was either a long island iced tea or shot of tequila. Her favorite dessert was always a piece of chocolate cake. She loved to watch NFL football and even though she claimed she didn’t have a favorite team, she rooted for the Dallas Cowboys during the Tom Landry years. She would never admit that today.
Jenny was embraced by so many people, and she will be deeply missed.
Any donations in Jenny’s honor can be donated to St. Helena food pantry or The Building Fund in her memory.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, close friends, and Father Dennis Fountain.
As Forrest Gump would say, I love you, Jenny!
