Jerrie Lynn (White) Ramirez, affectionately known as JL, Mom, and Grammy, passed away on October 30, 2025, in Lubbock, Texas, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on January 2, 1963, in Eunice, New Mexico, where she grew up and made lifelong memories, as well as in Oil Center, New Mexico.
A proud graduate of Corona High School in Corona, New Mexico, Jerrie Lynn was valedictorian of the Class of 1981. During her high school years, she excelled in volleyball, basketball, track, and cheerleading – showing the same determination and enthusiasm that would define her throughout her life.
Jerrie Lynn will be remembered for her kind heart, hardworking spirit, and passionate love for sports and family. With her infectious smile and beautiful blue eyes, she brightened every room she entered. She spent countless days at the ball fields cheering on her grandkids – her greatest joy. An avid bowler, she traveled the United States competing in tournaments along with her dad, mom, and sister, where she built lifelong friendships. In her younger years, she also loved playing softball, bringing her trademark energy and team spirit to every game.
Jerrie Lynn is survived by her father, Jerry White; her brother Walter White and his wife Brenda; her daughters Heather Michell and Christin Donaldson and husband Sean Donaldson; her cherished grandchildren Jayton, Adison, and Rylon Michell, and Gage, Jordon, Rowin, and Breklyn Donaldson; and her beloved great-grandsons James and Halsten Michell.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Donnalee White, and her sister Dawn Dyer.
Her legacy of love, laughter, and perseverance will continue to live on through her family, friends, and everyone who knew her.
A funeral service celebrating Jerrie Lynn’s life will be held Monday, November 10, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. MST (11:00 a.m. CST) at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home in Hobbs, New Mexico.
