Jerry G. Parks was born November 4, 1932, on a farm near Tipton, Oklahoma to Elizabeth Thurman and Odell Parks. He was the high school president and graduated from Tipton High School in 1950. He then attended Oklahoma AM College and graduated from Brantley Draughon Business College in Fort Worth, Texas. From 1952 through 1960 Jerry was in active service and the reserves with the US Air Force. Following this he had a 34-year career with Texaco Inc. and worked in various drilling and production positions in several states including New Mexico. Jerry was baptized at the First Baptist Church of Tipton. He was active in church youth ministry while raising his family in Texas. On December 25, 1952, he and Wilma D. Bentley were married in Lawton, Oklahoma. Together they had two daughters, Marla Eckhart and Jana McFadden, and a son, Jay Parks. Wilma preceded him in death in 2010 and Marla (daughter) in 2021. Jerry married his second wife, Charmayne Sadler of Hobbs, NM on February 6, 2015. Jerry Parks is survived by his wife Charmayne Parks, his sister June McIntyre, his son Jay and daughter Jana, 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
