John Petty was born on September 22,1947 in Evant, Texas, and died on March 19, 2026, at his home in Monument, New Mexico

John was preceded in death by both of his parents and their parents and other family members including his in laws.
John was a hard-working man, husband, stepfather, and a grandpa.
He worked at a lot of trucking companies. And when he had time, he would play dominoes with friends, go bowling or on a weekend camping trip or just sit back and enjoy a nice cold beer with his friends. And spin his exaggerated version of a past event.
John worked so hard during his lifetime that when he had a chance to retire from work, he took it, but then he was lost because he didn’t know how to handle his freedom from the working day. He got bored with nothing to do day.
John was a proud veteran of the Marine Corps. He would never say “Goodbye” to anyone. Most always his last word was “Toodle”
