Jose Martinez

Jose (Joe) Martinez passed away at his home on January 22, 2019 with his family by his side. Born to Pedro and Semona Martinez on March 16, 1943 in Loving, NM. He attended Loving Senior High School. On February 10, 1962 he married Josephine (Josie) Sosa Martinez of Carlsbad, NM with whom he shared 38 years with before her passing 18 years ago. Joe later married Josephine El Ahmad of Lebanon, Beirut on April 20, 2015. Joe served in the National Guard and was a chef in his younger years and retired after many years as a pastry baker and cake decorator. Joe was an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God from 1984-2002. He loved people and loved ministering the love of God with his late wife Josie by his side. Joe is survived by his wife of the home, Josephine El Ahmad, children George (Sheri) Martinez of Albuquerque, NM; Debbie (Gabriel) Orosco of Lubbock, TX; Lorraine (Chris) Tarin of Hobbs, NM; grandchildren, Amanda Martinez, Avery Martinez, Amorette and Sergio Vega, Lindsey Orosco, Brittany Ornelas, Caleb Ornelas, Emily Ornelas, CJ Tarin and Austin Tarin; and was expecting his first great grandchild; brother Eliseo Martinez of Roswell, NM. He was preceded in death by his parents Pedro and Semona Martinez, brothers; Moises Gutierrez, David Martinez, Adan Martinez and Pete Martinez, sisters; Graciana (Chana) Martinez Sainz and Arcenia (Archie/Chena) Martinez.
