Jose Muniz

Jose Paz Muniz, age 82, passed away on February 1, 2024, in Hobbs, NM. He was born to the late Pedro and Romana Muniz on January 25, 1942, in Mexico. Jose Paz was a mechanic of many things, cars, washers, dryers, whose immense knowledge, skilled hands, and a jack of all trades.

Jose Paz loved his family, fishing, gambling, and most of all he loved to sing all the time.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Alicia of Hobbs; son, Joe Muniz of Hobbs; son Rodrigo Muniz preceded him in death, his love for his son remained eternal. Son Jaime Muniz of Hobbs; Jaime's son Jaime Jr. along with wife Erica. Jaime's daughter Yvonne along with husband Jeremy Bara. Jaime's youngest son Rodrigo along with wife Jasmine. Jose Paz only and youngest daughter Venezia Muniz Chavez along with husband Pablo Chavez, daughter Natalia Chavez; and son Isaac Chavez of Austin. Along with seven great grandchildren. Angel, Nathaniel, Nohea, Ninoa Muniz of Hobbs. Zoey, Aubrey, and Mason Bara, of Hobbs.

As Jose Paz leaves his legacy here on earth, his story does not end. It continues in the hearts he touched, the lives he changed, and the people he helped. He was so loved by many people. He was a beacon of hope, a source of strength, and a loving friend to all. Jose Paz's life was filled with joy, laughter, and an abundance of love. Although he may has left this world, his light will shine in the memories that were made that we will cherish forever.

His life will be celebrated in accordance with his wishes, surrounded by those who loved him most. As we say our ultimate farewell, we take solace in the knowledge that his life was well-lived, full of purpose and overflowing with love. Rest in peace, dear Jose Paz, until we meet again.

Honoring him by serving as pallbearers will be Jaime Muniz, Rodrigo Muniz, Jaime Jr. Muniz, Angel Muniz, Nathaniel Muniz, Nohea Muniz. Honorary Pallbearers will be Joe Muniz and Pablo Chavez.
