Jose Olivas

Jose M. Olivas 64, died on January 20,2022, outside his apartment at Wood Leaf Apartments in Hobbs, N.M.

Jose was born October 15, 1957.  In Ojinaga, Chich., to Moises and Maria de Jesus Olivas.  Jose was the fourth child from eleven brothers and sisters.  He loved spending time with his family especially with his children and grandchildren.

Jose married Elizabeth (Betty) Dominguez from Ojinaga, Chich on September 5, 1978.  They were blessed with three children: Jose David Olivas, Perla Yudid Terrazas and Maria Guadalupe Reyes all from Hobbs NM.  Jose enjoyed reading and learning about the word of God, and praying with his daughter-in-law Lourdes Olivas.  He also loved his sons-in-law Ernesto Terrazas(Jr.) and Brandon Acevedo.

Jose is survived by his children Jose David, Perla Yudid and Maria Guadalupe and by his lifetime love of his life ex-wife Elizabeth (Betty) Olivas, eight grandchildren:  Viviana Olivas, BJ Olivas, Joaquin Terrazas, Arlina Terrazas, Josue Olivas, Genesis Reyes, Alessandra Terrazas and Izaiah Sosa all from Hobbs NM.

He was preceded in death by his parents Moises and Maria Olivas and his oldest brother Jesus Antonio Olivas.

Jose will be remembered for all his stories he told about working at the ranches with his father coming to the United States when he was still a teenager.
