In Loving Memory of Juana V. Ramírez
February 10, 1950 - July 3, 2025
With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Juana V. Ramírez (Janie, Jane, or Juanita), who departed this life on July 3, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on February 10, 1950, Juana was a woman of strength, faith, and unmatched spirit. She was the proud and loving mother of Sandra Corral (husband Arturo), Amie Baeza (husband Joaquín), and Ruben Rodriguez. She is lovingly remembered by Hector Ramirez, who remained a life companion and a significant part of her life and family. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Jose Manuel Corral, Miguel Corral (wife Natalie), Arturo Corral, Zax Dathers, Abel Ramírez, Vianca Rodriguez, Dominic Rodriguez, Chito Romero and Maritza Romero; and her beloved great-grandchildren: Sebastian Corral, Andrew Corral, Amelia Ramírez, Naomi Hernández and Juan Hernández Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents, Reverend Simon Sr. and Paula Velasquez, her bonus mom Ernestina Hernandez, her siblings Marie Moreno, Simon Velasquez Jr., and Sylvester Velasquez Sr, and her nephews Sylvester Velasquez Jr. and Alvaro Moreno Jr. Juana was known for her resilience, perseverance, and an unwavering will that carried her through life's most challenging moments. She was a pillar of strength for so many - the one others turned to for comfort, advice, and support. Helping others brought her joy, and she did so selflessly and often. Her happiness was also found in the little things: cooking big meals for those she loved, sipping her favorite Dr. Pepper at Taco Villa, enjoying coffee or ice cream at McDonald's, and zipping through town in her scooter chair with fearless independence. She had a passion for crocheting and arts and crafts. A woman of deep faith, Juana rarely missed a church service and was surrounded by a strong and loving church family. She held lifelong friendships that spanned decades - friends who became family and remained by her side through every season of life. Juana's life was one of love, faith, service, and humor. Her memory will live on in every meal shared, every prayer whispered, and every act of kindness done in her spirit. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 2:00 pm at the V.F.W., 609 W. Alto Dr. in Hobbs. All who knew and loved Juana are welcome to attend. Though Juana is no longer with us in body, her fierce love, enduring faith, and vibrant spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
