Karen Elaine Kinney, 66, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025, reunited in spirit with her beloved husband, Alan. Born on August 1, 1959, Karen lived a life full of love, laughter, and connection, leaving a lasting imprint on all who knew her.
On March 19, 1991, Karen married the love of her life, Alan Kinney. Together, they raised two sons, Bruce and Lance, and shared 28 beautiful years of marriage built on devotion, companionship, and countless memories.
Karen and Alan were blessed with grandchildren who brought her immeasurable joy: Ryan “Ry Ry,” Brooklynn, Allison, Cruz, Kaden, and Garrett. Being a grandmother was one of her greatest treasures, and her love for them knew no bounds.
Karen is survived by her sons, Bruce Kinney (Sarah) of Louisiana and Lance Kinney of Hobbs, New Mexico; her mother-in-law, Charlotte Kinney of Hobbs, New Mexico; her brother-in-law’s, Joe L. Kinney of Hobbs, New Mexico and Tommy Wallace of Hobbs, New Mexico; her brother, Wendel Hudson (Linda) of Louisiana; her nephews, Randell Hudson (Samantha) of Louisiana, “TJ” Wallace of Hobbs, New Mexico and Landon Kinney of Texas. She, too, is lovingly survived by Crystal Kinney and Jacob Boydston, whom she embraced as her daughter and son by heart.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, James and Nelda Hudson, and her father-in-law, Joe W. Kinney.
Karen lived life with enthusiasm and heart. She loved to shop, was a devoted LSU fan, and most importantly, cherished her fur babies. Some of her fondest memories were the motorcycle trips she and Alan shared, which gave her a sense of youth, freedom, and adventure. Karen was kind-hearted, outgoing, and truly never met a stranger—she had a gift for making everyone feel welcome.
Karen’s passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of her cherished family and her wide circle of dear friends who were, in every sense, family. Her legacy of love, laughter, and genuine connection will live on forever.
