Kay Maxwell, Daughter, Mother, Grannie and Friend, took flight on March 13, 2023, for her Heavenly home. Ms. Kay was born in Emmett, Oklahoma to Stanley and Nellie Walker. Kay was the youngest of four children, eldest sister Marilyn Wright, brother Theron Walker and sister Linda Walker.
Kay was educated in Hobbs, NM, where she met and married Bobby Joe Maxwell, on March 29, 1958. Kay and Bobby had four children, Mark and Janet Maxwell, Craig and Susan Maxwell, Michelle and David Lewis, and Bobby Paul Maxwell, nine grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Kay wore many hats. She earned respected titles, Devoted daughter, Faithful wife, Loving Momma, Outstanding Grannie, as well as dutiful employee. Kay was a tool in the Master’s hand. She lived, loved, and listened well. Her relationships attest to this. Kay was gentle, yet firm. Kay’s kitchen counter was a catch all, if that little nook could write a book, the title would be, “LOVE ALL, NO MATTER WHAT.”
Kay attended Church at Hobbs, where she proudly sat in “Baptist Row” with her lifelong friend Ms. Doris Naylor. They were two “Peas in a Pod”, that loved God with all their hearts.
