Kay Skaggs

Kay Skaggs, 75, of Hobbs, passed away at home surrounded by her family on February 13, 2022.

Kay was born on August 23 in Rotan, Texas to William “Bill” and Beatrice Carmichael.

On November 1st 1963, Kay married her High School Sweetheart Freddie Skaggs in Juarez, Mexico.

That union lasted for 33 years until sadly her best friend was called home. Together they raised 5 children.

Survivors include son, William “Paul” Skaggs of Hobbs, NM. Son, James Skaggs and his wife Roxanne of Millsap, TX. Son, Ernest Skaggs and his wife Tanya of Alamogordo, NM. Daughter, Tommie Kay Neff and Husband Jason of Lovington, NM and Daughter, Beatrice Navarrette and husband Martin of Hobbs, NM.

She is also loved by 18 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren whom she adored.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert Carmichael and grandson Christopher Skaggs.

Kay had a passion for Bingo and a contagious smile that will be missed.

Pallbearers will include William Skaggs, James Skaggs, Ernest Skaggs, Ethan Skaggs, Jason Skaggs, Cayden Skaggs, Jason Neff and Martin Navarrette.
