We celebrate the life of Kelly Mack Myers, 72, of Jal, NM who passed away on June 14, 2025. Kelly was born on Feb. 4th 1953 in Kermit, TX to Mack Eugene Myers and Norma Joan Conklin Myers.
As a young man, Kelly worked hard to become the owner of what is now Deep Wells Ranch. Kelly's love for the cowboy way of life was evident in everything he did. He was known for his quiet strength, unwavering integrity, hard work, generosity, being a good neighbor, and love for his family. Although Kelly spent most of his time tending to his ranch, he always made time for his family and friends. He enjoyed spending time with his family and coveted his time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas with his wife and life-long friends, spending days on Lake Brownwood with his children and grandchildren and an occasional cruise just because the grandchildren asked. Kelly exemplified what it means to be a husband, a father, and a grandfather. He was a salt of the earth cowboy and lived his life in a way that most will never understand or duplicate. He would give you the shirt off his back, blister his already calloused hands to help you put in the work and some times take you outside to give you the talkin' to that you deserved. He lived, loved and worked as we were meant to, hard.
Kelly was a devoted husband of 52 years and is survived by his wife JoAnn (Gilbert) Myers of Jal, NM., sister Susan Brookings and husband Randy Brookings of Georgetown, TX., a father to his son Shawn Myers and wife Jenna Myers of Jal, NM., and daughter Brandy Gooss and husband Jim Gooss of Jal, NM., a papaw to his grandchildren Kyler Myers, Morgan Myers, Mackenna Myers, Brandon Gooss, Justin Gooss, Aaron Gooss, and Samantha Gooss, and great-grandchildren Madelyn Fuller and Kayden Gooss, and a beloved man to his cousins, nieces and nephews.
Kelly is proceeded in death by his father Mack Eugene Myers, mother Norma Joan Conklin Myers, brother David Eugene Myers, and sister-in-law Joyce Louise Myers.
