Kenneth Wayne Bromley

September 23, 1953 — March 20, 2026

Hobbs

With wife, Judy, praying over him and daughter, Nicole, singing to him, Kenneth Bromley was greeted at the gates of Heaven on March 20, 2026, at the age of 72 by his late son-in-law, Corey Hunter. Kenneth was born in Sweetwater, Texas on September 23, 1953 to Joyce and Jerry Bromley.

Kenneth married Judy Smith on August 11, 1973 in Fort Stockton, Texas. They were married for 52 years. He was so proud to tell others of their long marriage. They were blessed with two wonderful children, Gerald and Nicole. In the last two years, with his health struggles, it was Judy that he wanted at his constant side. He enjoyed spending time with his family often cooking for them, feeding the wild life at Johnson City Zoo or taking the kids tubing while listening to them scream! He loved going to football games, concerts, and fishing trips with friends and family.

He believed that as God blesses you, you should bless others. He was passionate about sponsoring local athletics teams, Make A Wish, WHI Hobbs, CASA, Boys and Girls Club, PDAP, the Human Society, 4-H students to list a few. Most Saturdays, you could find him at his Toy Box tinkering with his cars with Corey and Lincoln.

Kenneth spent the last 50 years working in the oil field. He began his career as a mud man for IMCO services. Later, he founded Nova Mud where he worked until his death. He considered his fellow workers at Nova as his second family.

A large family: wife, Judy; children, Gerald Bromley and Nicole Hunter; grandchildren - Lincoln and Shelby Hunter, Zoey, Gracelyn, Keegan and Amelia Bromley; mother, Joyce Bromley; brothers, Scott Bromley (Scarlet) and Todd Bromley; niece and nephew, Alyssa Byrd (Matt) and Justin Bromley (Raegan) and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins survive Kenneth in death.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his father, Jerry Bromley and son-in-law, Corey Hunter.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to PDAP (500 N. Dalmont Street, Hobbs, New Mexico 88240) or carry out an act of kindness for someone in need in memory of Kenneth.
