Hobbs

Kenneth D. McPeters, 95, left his earthly bounds on Friday August 28, in Hobbs, New Mexico. Kenneth was born on September 2, 1925 to Hubert McPeters and Grace Easley in Akins, Oklahoma.

Kenneth grew up in Hobbs, graduated from Hobbs High School, then graduated from New Mexico Tech in Socorro, New Mexico, with a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering with honors.

Following his discharge from the United States Navy, he returned to work in Hobbs.  Kenneth worked at Elk Oil and John M. Kelly, as a Reservoir Engineer in all drilling and production activities in NM, then Vice President and Executive Vice President for Moranco of Hobbs, then Bravo Energy (subsidiary of  Moranco) of Hobbs and then as President and CEO of Moranco-Ziadril Drilling, until his retirement.

Kenneth was very active, in the Community of Hobbs, during his life.

He was baptized in 1997 at American Baptist in Hobbs.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his son, Raoul McPeters, a daughter, Rhonda (McPeters)Valdez, brothers; Foster McPeters, Bob McPeters, Hoot McPeters, also; Luanne (Keith) McPeters (wife) Kristi Teague (McPeters) and Carla (Follis) McPeters.

He is survived by daughter-in-law, Sandra McPeters of Hobbs, grandson, Kenny McPeters(Kana) of San Diego, CA, son-in-law, Jon Valdez, of Wichita, KS, grandchildren, Michael(Danielle) David and Emily, Judd McPeters,(Zakary and Nathan), and Robbie McPeters,

stepdaughter, Sharon Kunkel (Clem) and Lynne Irish (Mike), grandchildren; Kelly Kunkel (Brad) Luke Kunkel (Annie), Christy

Muncrief, Lisa Nesbit (Curt) and great-grandchildren; Lucas, Ryleigh, Paige, Kylee, Kellen, Kallie, and Jaycee and Caleb.
