alignjustifyFuneral services for Lawrence M. Granby of Hobbs, New Mexico, will be held 2 p.m. Monday, April 27, 2009, at First United Methodist Church with Minister Mike Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Haven Cemetery.
alignjustifyVisitation will be 1-6 p.m. Sunday at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home with the family in attendance from 4-6 p.m.

alignjustifyMr. Granby, 95, died April 22, 2009, at his home in Hobbs. He was born August 10, 1913, in Oblong, Illinois. He married Maxine Granby on March 26, 1938, in Oblong. Lawrence was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Evening Lions Club. He spent many summers working at Glorietta and Sacramento Church camps. Mr. Granby treasured his family.
alignjustifyHe was a member of First United Methodist Church for over 55 years.
alignjustifySurvivors include a son, Larry O. Granby and wife Vi of PIano, Texas; two daughters, Kay Felts and husband Jerry of Hobbs, N.M., and Jone L. Fisher and husband Johnny of Luhbock, Texas; a brother, Leon Granby of Olney, Illinois; four grandchildren, Jeff Fisher and wife Jennifer of Lubbock, Texas, Debbie Owens and husband Trey of Visalia, California, Dana Ankerholz and husband Chuck of Hobbs, and Donna Rutledge and husband Michael of Hobbs; and six great-grandchildren, Courtney and Caitlin Owens of Visalia, California, Britain and Cambria Rutledge of Hobbs, and Jack and Levi Fisher of Lubbock, Texas.
alignjustifyLawrence was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Maxine Granby on October 29, 2007; his brothers, Don and Carl Granby; and a sister, Mary Kay Granby. Memorial contributions may be made to Landsun Retirement Center of Carlsbad, New Mexico.
