Leita Cosson

Leita Kittrell Cosson, 87, passed away on August 8, 2018. Leita was born and raised in Vernal Utah in 1931 where she shared many happy memories with her sisters. On May 8, 1949, she married Charles Joseph Kittrell in Vernal. The couple primarily resided in Hobbs New Mexico and Leita lovingly raised their 5 children. She later married her sweet husband Travis Cosson on May 13, 1983 in Lovington, New Mexico. Leita passed away in Broomfield, Colorado after living with her daughter for a short time, but resided in Hobbs for more than 50 years.

Leita was a dedicated mother always sacrificing everything for her children. Her family was her entire focus in life. She was an extraordinary homemaker with unmatched skills for cooking and sewing. Mrs. Cosson enjoyed the Eagles Lodge with her husband Travis as well as the many beautiful camping trips they took. One of her happiest activities of life was her many small house dogs. Leita stated that her greatest victory in life was raising her 5 children. She said her main dreams were first for her family to be happy, and second, Leita explained she wished often to someday have extra money to do nice things to help others. Leita was energetic, spirited, and determined.

Mrs. Cosson is survived by three daughters and a son: Vicky Elmore, and husband Michael of Hobbs whose children are James and Trish Elmore; Susan Christensen of Broomfield Colorado whose children are Melissa, Chris, Jessica, and Jeremy Christensen; Judy Moore of Thornton Colorado whose children are John Killian, and Orion, Daniel, and Aaron Moore; Chuck (Charles) Kittrell and wife Denese Kittrell of New Caney Texas whose children are Branda and Eric Kittrell. Leita is also survived by her three sisters and a brother who are Carla Larsen, Ruth Valentine, Susan Wall, and Glade Holfeltz. She has 12 grandchildren and 15 greatgrandchildren.

Leita was preceded in death by both husbands, a son James (Jimmy) Kittrell, and a sister Pat Carlson.
