Lloyd Parker

Lloyd William Parker was born on October 18, 1941, to Alton B. and Laura Florence (Midgett) Parker near Flat Rock, Honey Creek Twp., Crawford Co., Illinois.

The family moved to Seminole, Texas in October 1955, then to Eunice, New Mexico in May 1957, where he graduated from high school in 1959. He moved to Hobbs the summer of 1961, employed by Climax Chemical, married in 1962 and had two children before moving to St. Petersburg, Florida in 1968. Employed by Jim Walter and Honeywell, then later owned and operated a dog kennel before moving back to Hobbs, New Mexico in 1994.

He graduated from college; University of Southwest, with a Bachelor of Science Degree (Secondary Education), and taught school.

Upon retirement he delved deeper into his passion for genealogy. He was a member of the Genealogical Society in Hobbs for many years. Where he assisted others in locating graves of their ancestors and tracing their heritage. Other hobbies included: a lifelong passion for trees, reading, softball, country music, and classic cars. He was very family oriented, spending as much time as possible with any around close.

Lloyd is survived by one son, James (Jim) Scott Parker and his wife Leslie Ann (Grater) Parker; four grandchildren; Zachary James Parker and his wife Caitlin Parker, Joshua Scott Parker, Jacob Allen Parker, and Sarah Ann Parker; one sister, Lotus Elaine (Parker) (Robertson) and William Eugene (Gene) Breece; numerous nieces and nephews; and the mother of his children; Mary Lou (Singleton) Parker.

He is preceded in death by a daughter, Terri Lynn (Parker) Palumbo; two brothers: Darrell Dean Parker and Alton Scott Parker, one sister, Shirley Jean (Parker) Coulter of Oblong Illinois; one great-nephew, Christopher Lloyd Parker; one nephew, George Steven Thomas; and one niece, Dinah Dannette Parker.
