Madison Cook

July 5, 1936 — November 17, 2018

Madison (Matt) Cook passed away November 17, 2018 at Desert Springs Rehab Center. He was born in English, KY to Madison Cook and Hester Cook.

He is survived by his wife Olivia Cook, one brother; Harley Cook, one son; Chris (Nancy) Cook of Cairo, GA, daughters; Janet (Alex) Zavistovich of Washington, D.C. and Sherrie (Nick) Potgieter of Sylvester, GA, five grandchildren; Apollo Cook, Kym Cook, Rebecca Barfield, Alex Hunter, and Evan Barfield, two great-grandchildren; Marisa Cook and Danica Cook, several nephews and nieces and great-nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved daughter; Tammy Barfield, four brothers; Hillis Cook, Raymond Cook, John McFarland and Eddie McFarland.

He loved our Lord. At age 20 he was ordained and preaching the Bible. After that, he joined the Marine Corps. He was a very proud soldier.
When he was discharged from the military he went to work for the U.S. Government for about 40 years until his retirement. After retirement he became a sheriff's deputy in Clay County, FL for seven years, then he moved to Hobbs, NM where he started working for Eades Well Drilling.

He loved going to Walmart and visiting with all of his friends (employees) and if he needed help they would help him.

He will truly be missed by many.
